Vietinbank opens branch in Berlin

Vietnam’s Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Chairman Pham Huy Hung unveil the Vietinbank plaque at the Vietinbank Berlin Branch building.

May 28, 2012 - Vietinbank officially opened a new branch in the German capital of Berlin. Among the attendees at the ribbon cutting ceremony were Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan.

Vietinbank’s Berlin branch is located at 44 Mollendorffstrabe, Berlin, Germany. The office building is 5 floors high and has 1 basement. Each floor has a surface area of 350 square meters. This is the second of Vietinbank’s branches opened in The Federal Republic of Germany.

Berlin is a political, cultural, and scientific center of Europe. It is also the most populated and largest city in Germany. In the European Union area, it is second in size only to London. In addition, no other city in all of Germany houses as many overseas Vietnamese workers and residents.

In his address at the opening ceremony, Chairman Pham Huy Hung stated: Vietinbank Berlin Branch will operate while striving for effectiveness, modernity, safety, and sustainable growth; in an effort to play its part in contributing to the growth of the German economy and the financial strength of the local Vietnamese community, the branch is committed to complete adherence to legal regulations as well as regulations imposed by administrative agencies, the central bank, and investigative agencies of Germany.

Deputy State Bank Governor Tran Minh Tuan asserted: Vietinbank’s second branch inauguration in Germany is highly significant not just to Vietinbank, but also to Vietnam’s entire banking industry. Vietinbank’s presence in Germany and, more generally, in Europe is a grand milestone in Vietinbank’s international expansion roadmap, and is a testament to the growth of Vietinbank’s financial and banking industry in an era of reform and international integration. The Deputy Governor is firmly confident that, armed with extensive experience and highly competent, devoted, and responsible staff, Vietinbank will unleash a wide gamut of banking products and services of premier quality onto the German market, which will undoubtedly help tighten the extant economic and commercial relations between Germany and Vietnam.

Also at the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Chairman Pham Huy Hung unveiled the Vietinbank logo displayed on the branch building. Representatives and guests had the opportunity to visit the building and perform initial transactions.
