Chairman of the BoD Nguyen Van Thang Attending the Inaugural Ceremony of BTMU’s Top Executives
In receiving invitation from Top Executives of The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd (BTMU), VietinBank’s delegation led by Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Van Thang, had traveled to Singapore – BTMU’s Asia-Oceana headquarter. The ceremony also welcomed and received speeches from Mr. Goh Chok Tong - Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore, Mr. Kenji Shinoda, Ambassador of Japan in Singapore.

At the event, Chairman Nguyen Van Thang has congratulated and wished Mr. Nobuyuki Hirano – Chairman of BTMU and Mr. Takashi Oyamada – CEO of BTMU numerous success at new posts. Chairman Thang also express his trust in Mr. Hirano and Mr. Oyamada’s leadership, which shall guide BTMU steadily ahead its voyage of conquering new accomplishments.
Also on this occasion, top Executives from banks where BTMU contributed capital, namely VietinBank, Krungsri Bank (Thailand) and Security Bank (Philippines) had spent time introducing and discussing privately about collaboration opportunities among the parties.
For the 1st time meeting Security Bank’s top executives, taking the role of the Bank that has established strategic partnership with BTMU and Krungsri Bank earlier, Chairman Thang has exchanged about the reality and various experiences during the collaboration in corporate banking, retail banking as well as other important projects of VietinBank such as cross-selling, payment and SME banking with two other banks that Security Bank could learn from and apply. Chairman Thang also added that, as VietinBank had already efficiently and tightly established relationships with BTMU and Krungsri, VietinBank and Security Bank should promptly make contacts to discover partnership opportunities as soon as possible.
According to Chairman Thang, the potential of collaboration among banks with BTMU’s capital contribution is abundant and thus, he expected that all parties should utilize each other’s strengths as well as the synergy of all banks, and realize all the collaboration opportunities into specific activities, bringing about benefits to all parties.
