VietinBank Van Don Branch Grand Opening Ceremony

On the 3rd April morning, VietinBank officially opened Van Don Branch. This is the sixth branch in Quang Ninh Province and the 152nd branch of the Bank.

Van Don located in the south-east of Quang Ninh Province is one of the country"s largest island districts, converging many favorable conditions for road, aviation, maritime transportation and hold special value of the natural resources and landscape beauty. Since 2006, the Prime Minister approved the project "Socio-Economic Development of Van Don Economic Zone, Quang Ninh Province." Accordingly, Van Don will be built into an administrative and special economic area and become a symbolic coastal city, center of trade, finance as well as an international trade gateway.

As soon as realizing the potential of the district, since 2011, Vietinbank established Van Don Transaction office in the town named Cai Rong, which was a prerequisite for upgrading to Van Don Branch today. After a period of preparation, from the 17th March 2014, VietinBank Van Don Branch, located at No. 251, Group 1, Zone 4 Cai Rong Town, Van Don district, Quang Ninh is ready for operation. The opening of Vietinbank Van Don Branch has contributed to promote economic restructuring, to better serve the enterprises and individuals in the area with diversified, modern and convenient banking products and services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, the Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh province stressed: With the aim of becoming a special economic zone, the opening of  VietinBank Van Don branch would enable enterprises and individuals to develop business. It also proves strategic vision of VietinBank for the future of Van Don in particular and Quang Ninh Province in general. He expressed his confidence that VietinBank, a leading commercial bank with banking experience and qualified staffs and high profession would quickly integrate into Van Don market and highly contribute to the socio-economic development in the area.

Appreciating the contribution and good performance  of VietinBank in the area (accounting for 20% of the Province’s banking market share), Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien - Deputy Director of State Bank in Quang Ninh Province, expressed his confidence that Vietinbank Van Don branch would promote the tradition of VietinBank, creating trust to customers, providing diversified products and services and serving effectively for the economic development of Van Don, Quang Ninh.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Huy Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors highlighted a number of key tasks for the Branch: concentrating on financing to key projects which are promoted to invest in Van Don special economic zone such as: infrastructure , airport, bridges, roads, seafood farming and export, sea ports, energy and water supply, telecommunication in accordance with the policy and orientation of the Government and Quang Ninh Province; promoting fund mobilization, providing products and services in order to contribute to the shifting of industries and economic sectors, improving service quality, better risk management and control, promoting creativity and dedication of the employees ...

In this occasion, VietinBank donated 100 houses worth VND 4 billion to the poor in Van Don to help them settle down in their hometown.

By opening of the Van Don Branch, VietinBank has had an extensive network with 149 branches nationwide, 3 overseas branches, 3 business units, 9 subsidiaries, and 1,000 transaction offices.

Mr. Phạm Huy Hùng, Board Chairman was giving sponsorship for building 100 houses for the poor in Van Don.
