In order to help the customers proceed transactions quickly, conveniently and safely, following instructions are released by VietinBank:

PRINCIPLE OF SAFE TRANSACTION WITH VIETINBANK

DO’S:

  1. CHECK TRANSACTION INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE
  • Read carefully information on the bank’s provided papers, documents and materials, etc.
  • Only sign the banking transaction documents such as payment order, acknowledgment of debt, contract, etc., when it is fully/matched with the transaction information.
  • Only confirm the online transaction when accurate transaction information is fully verified.
  1. UPDATE ACCOUNT BALANCE REGULARLY

  • Update regularly account balances (for current account, saving account, term deposit, and loan account) via balance alert message, OTT message/transaction history on VietinBank iPay/eFAST.
  • Actively check the balance and transaction information by the above methods whenever transactions (remittance/disbursement/savings, etc.) are initiated.
  1. KEEP PERSONAL DATA AND TRANSACTION INFORMATION CONFIDENTIAL

  • Maintain the absolute confidentiality for credentials to bank accounts (username/password, etc.), secure the personal identification papers. Remember to change the password upon login on strange device.
  1. UPDATE TELEPHONE APPLICATION, PROTECT PERSONAL DEVICES

  • Always update VietinBank iPay/eFAST, anti-virus software to latest version.
  • Only setup prestigious applications from  Google Play/App store.
  • Recommend to update the biometric information at VietinBank transaction outlets/VietinBank iPay.
  1. TRANSACT ON PRESTIGIOUS WEBSITES

  • Transacting on unfamiliar websites may make customers to have their account information and personal information stolen and be lost of money by thieves.

DONT’S:

  • DO NOT sign false documents, incomplete/incorrect transaction information or sign without reading the contents carefully.
  • DO NOT allow other persons to borrow the current account or personal identification papers to open the account. Do not borrow the personal devices with banking application installed.
  • DO NOT provide user name/password/OTP/personal identification paper-related information to anyone even the banking staff.
  • DO NOT setup unlicensed applications, tools and utilities from unfamiliar websites, etc., on the personal devices set up with banking applications.
  • DO NOT access to strange links which may widely spread malware to prevent account information from being stolen.

6. HOW TO PROCESS UPON SUSPECTED RISKY SIGNS FOUND

- Actively block the service:

+ You may self-operate at VietinBank iPay: Go to “Card Service” - Select which cards to be locked and select the respective functions “Temporarily lock card/Deactivate online payment functions”.

You are recommended to setup SMS Banking/OTT service or VietinBank iPay/eFAST to monitor account balance to timely detect any risks and actively minimize abnormal transaction-related risks.
